A Big Milestone Moment
Tori & Michael’s Wedding
In July 2025, I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Chicago to photograph a wedding—a milestone moment in my photography journey. While I’ve traveled before to my hometown of Cincinnati for engagement sessions and graduation portraits, this was my first time being flown out to a completely new location for a full wedding day. The experience was exciting, humbling, and deeply meaningful. It marked a turning point in my business and reminded me of the passion that drives me to do this work every day.
What made this experience even more special was the relationship I had built with the couple, Tori and Michael. I first met them in July 2023, when I photographed their engagement session. From the very beginning, their warmth and trust made the session feel effortless and natural. Over the past two years, we stayed in contact, sharing updates, laughing together, and anticipating the wedding day. When they asked me to photograph their wedding, it felt like a true honor—a full-circle moment that I will always cherish.
Standing Behind the Camera

Traveling to a new city for a wedding brought a unique mix of excitement and responsibility. It’s one thing to photograph couples in familiar settings, but being trusted to document a day in a completely different location comes with its own set of expectations. I wanted to make sure that every moment—big or small—was captured beautifully. From the moment I arrived in Chicago, I felt a sense of purpose and focus. Every detail mattered: the lighting in the venue, the emotions on their faces, the subtle gestures between them and their loved ones.
Standing behind my camera on their wedding day, I had one of those rare “wow, I’m really doing this” moments. Watching Tori walk down the aisle, seeing Michael’s reaction, and capturing the laughter, tears, and joy of their family and friends was an indescribable feeling. It was a reminder of why I chose this path in photography—to witness authentic moments, preserve memories, and create images that will be treasured for a lifetime.
What I love most about photography is that it allows me to connect deeply with people. Each session, engagement, and wedding brings a new story, a new set of emotions, and a new opportunity to witness love in its purest form. Tori and Michael’s wedding was a perfect example of this. The trust they placed in me allowed me to focus fully on capturing genuine moments, moments that I know they will look back on and relive for years to come.

Gratitude for My Clients
Tori & Michael’s Wedding
Reflecting on this experience, I feel a profound sense of gratitude. Gratitude for clients who trust me with their most important moments, for the growth I’ve experienced in my business, and for the opportunities that continue to present themselves. Traveling to Chicago was more than just a job—it was a milestone that symbolizes how far this journey has come and how much more I am capable of dreaming and achieving.
Over the years, I’ve realized that every wedding and session I take on is not just about photographs—it’s about connection, storytelling, and preserving moments that might otherwise be fleeting. Whether it’s a laugh shared between the couple, a tear from a loved one, or a quiet glance that says everything, these are the moments that matter most. Being able to capture those moments, especially in a city far from home, reminded me of the incredible responsibility and joy that comes with this work.
Tori and Michael’s wedding also reminded me of the importance of relationships in this journey. Staying in touch with clients beyond a single session creates trust and familiarity, which allows for even more genuine moments to be captured. The bond I built with them over two years allowed me to feel comfortable and connected throughout their entire wedding day. Those relationships are the heart of my business, and they are what make each wedding feel so personal and meaningful.
REFLECTION ON THE JOURNEY

Looking back, I feel proud of how far I’ve come. From starting with smaller shoots in my hometown to now traveling across the country to document weddings, this milestone is a testament to dedication, growth, and the power of following your passion. Every client, every session, and every challenge has contributed to building a business and a creative path that I am proud to pursue.
As I continue this journey, I am excited for the future. There are so many stories yet to be told, so many moments to capture, and so many couples and families to connect with. Each wedding and session brings new lessons, new experiences, and new inspiration that fuels my creativity and love for photography. I am committed to approaching every opportunity with the same care, attention, and passion that guided me on Tori and Michael’s wedding day.
In the end, being a photographer is about more than images—it’s about being present for people during some of the most significant moments of their lives. Tori and Michael’s wedding was a beautiful reminder of why I do this work: to witness love, to preserve memories, and to create images that tell a story that will last a lifetime.
If you’re looking for a photographer to capture your wedding, engagement, or special milestone, I would love to connect. No matter where your story takes you, I would be honored to be a part of it and help preserve the moments that matter most. Every story deserves to be told, and every memory deserves to be remembered.
